Looking for a place in La Paz that steps outside the usual? A restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, dishes you will not find on just any menu, and a great space to keep the evening going after dinner. Biznaga had been recommended to us several times, so we went to see what it was all about.
Good Vibes
From the moment we walked in, you can feel the vibe: a very cool place with a personality of its own and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay. We were seated inside, comfortably and without any rush, perfect for easing into the evening.
Since we were in a group, we decided to order several things for the table to share and try a little of everything.
Original cuisine
The risotto was one of the table favorites. Creamy, well prepared, and served with meat, it gives a different twist to the Italian classic and makes for a very satisfying dish.
The duck tetela was another surprise. It is a very different dish from what you might usually expect, with original Mexican flavors that feel authentic while adding a creative touch. If you enjoy trying something new, this is the one to order.
We also ordered the beet salad, which was just as distinctive and very good. Fresh and light, its mix of flavors balanced the heartier dishes on the table beautifully.
Overall, Biznaga's cooking does not stick to the usual. Every dish has its own idea behind it, and the care in the preparation comes through.
El Árbol
After dinner, we moved out to the patio, where the bar called El Árbol is located. The atmosphere shifts there: music, good energy, and an outdoor space that is ideal for continuing the conversation with a drink in hand. It is the kind of place where the evening stretches on before you realize it.
Our Verdict
Biznaga is an excellent choice for anyone looking for something different in La Paz. Original cuisine with Mexican roots, an atmosphere full of personality, and a patio bar with music to close out the evening. It is especially nice for a group, whether you are settling in for a long dinner or starting the night before heading out.
